Salsa for Pupusas + more
This delicious and easy salsa is our favorite on Pupusas but can also be used for - Enchiladas Salvadoran, yucca, tamales pisque’s, pasteles de beef, pork or chicken
Ingredients:
4 tomatoes (we like Roma tomatoes)
1 quarter large onion
1 peeled garlic clove
1 tbsp of apple cider vinegar
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp chicken bouillon
I tbsp chopped cilantro
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1 dried bay leaf
1/2 peeled and cut carrot
Makes roughly 24 liquid oz.
Let’s go!
Boil the tomatoes, carrot, onion and garlic in water until carrot is tender
After its boiled pour into blender, adding salt, chicken bouillon, pepper, oregano (hot chiles are optional)
Pour blended sauce in a pan, add whole bay leaf - boil.
Once boiling add apple cider vinegar and cilantro. Voila!
Taste and add salt if needed
Add to a container, let it rest in the fridge for tomorrow
